About the Authors
Susan Daffron and James Byrd have been happily and healthily vegan since 1994.
Unlike many vegans who have political or ethical reasons for not eating animal products, James and Susan became vegan for a far more mundane reason: their health.
Back in 1994, they read a book called Fit for Life by Harvey and Marilyn Diamond. The book actually isn’t about being a vegetarian at all, let alone taking the drastic step of becoming vegan. It’s about how to eat foods in the right combinations to lose weight. Concepts like “food combining” and “natural hygiene” were not new, but it was a new idea to the couple.
After reading the book, they tried the eating methods for one week using a vegan approach instead of straight food combining.
Because they felt so much better, that week-long experiment continues to this day.
Vegan Success came about because of the many questions they have answered about being vegan. After people find out all the things vegans don't eat, they wonder what's left TO eat. This book answers those questions and is filled with easy recipes that anyone can make easily.
